    amp is cutting out?

Ohio Generator is a very trusted, reliable brand. You could also look into Powermaster and DC Power for other options. Good point. If it was just a voltage problem then both amps would cut off at the same time. But, low voltage is still an issue in his situation and without correcting that it...

    amp is cutting out?

Sounds like it's going into protect from getting inadequate voltage. From the stats I dug up, it looks like your amps draw anywhere from 70-140A of current depending on the amp settings and volume level. A del sol alternator puts out roughly 60-80A depending on condition, 60% of this power will...

    amp wire ?

Capacitors do next to nothing in most cases, and sometimes even harm a weak electrical system further. I'd reccomend a small gell cell battery, but the cost might not be worth it if you don't play loud that much.

    I want to stop!

Yeah, pretty much. It's a really bad thing looking back; and I've probably done some irreversable damage, but what can ya do? It was the age old peer pressure excuse.

    I want to stop!

It all comes down to will power, plain and simple. I smoked for nearly 10years; yes you read that right lol. You could say nicotine was a part of my development, which IMO would make it harder to quit. One day back in March, I just said fuck it, and quit cold turkey. I've been smoke-free ever...

    amp wire ?

Definatly go with 4ga. when going over 500watts. Also, upgrading your chassis to ground, +batt. terminal to +alt, and neg. batt. to chassis with at least 4 ga. wire will help with your dimming issues and help to supply the required current easier.

    Need help building a system

The HU I've got has 6v preouts, so that should get the job done. If I'm unhappy with the performance of my deck after installing all of my new equipment, I'll definatly look to replacing the HU.

AudioQue 2200D AudioQue HDC315 Kicker 08zx350.2 Phoenix Gold RSD65cs I've dicided to keep my Clarion HU because it has some really nice features, and I don't see the need to upgrade. I'm in the process of getting a box built by BJ Fisher, don't know if anyone...

    Need help building a system

I can understand that, and IMO I think a single/dual sub setup on 2k watts should be perfect for a daily. Would you have any idea on what numbers to expect? I was thinking mid 140's. Am I close at all?

    Need help building a system

Mid to high 140's would be my ultimate goal, but I'd settle for less as long as it sounds good and has a fairly flat reponse along most lower frequencies. As far as what kind of power I'd want to upgrade to; maybe something like 5k watts total in the future. That's really not too far of a...

    Need help building a system

I understand that a lot of people haven't heard the subs I'm asking about, but I thought I'd ask anyway lol. Would you also suggest a battery to go along with the HO alt? Also, is 200A enough to give me some room to work with if I want to go bigger in the future?

I know this particular section of the site doesn't get very much traffic, but the people who do frequent here are very knowledgeable, so here it goes. My goals are more geared toward SPL, but I also want a good bit of SQ, and have a budget of about $2k to achieve this with. For the front...

Idiot or genius? Happy about $8 gas?

$8/gallon+ gas prices would have a very negative effect on this country as a whole. Think severe recession, bordering on depression due to the rising costs of virtually everything you use.
