picked up a set of 2014 rspec springs finally! they have a slightly higher spring rate than the base springs. ordered new front strut tops.

the replacement suspension components did not work out so far, haven't had a chance to run and get them 3 hours away so i'm going to modify the struts on the car for the inserts.

palmer next weekend, if the weather is looking good :)

Back springs are done...

The veloster sleeps inside tonight. Gonna wash it tomorrow before i get started. It’s tight in here never had the bigger cars in with the wood. Kia was dead in here last time.

tomorrow on 'how i almost died from a spring compressor rental' lol hate those things.

Careful with the wood - going to attract a lot of bugs in there that could end up eating your place... termites, etc.

literally every time! it took FOUR of these badboys to change one spring on the front of a dodge caravan many years ago. ive learned to use vice grips to lock them in place to keep them from slipping.

we have to specifically get kiln dried wood per condo rules if stored in the garage. outside can be stored under decks but we don't have a deck only a patio. i checked everything out when i stacked it. so far bug free and burns nice in our outside pit. once our chimney inspection is completed we will burn indoors.

also i wanted to mention ive had these spring sticks since... my 93 mirage. yes that long.

i last used them on the kia struts but the lowering springs make it easy.

And here’s the fireplace :)

gonna weld up brackets for glass doors before too long. We can burn after the sweep/inspection. I replaced the refractory panels again lol

We had an AX event 2 weeks ago. VT did double duty with a codriver. We were very fast!

brakes finally broke in and the turn in was amazing with the complete setup. Can’t wait to get new tires for next season

My BOV stopped working, I was getting flutter, tested the solenoid it was not working. Took forever to ship but got a plug and play Mac valve upgrade. The bov is loud and clean now. I bent the factory bracket up and zip tied it. The cold pipe is just above it so it will never move.

i added it from the old veloster. it was also the most expensive bar i've ever bought... i usually just buy junk ebay bars and weld the hinges.

Ah, right...I forgot that you had another Veloster before this one.

I do love a nice, solid strut tower bar. Wish I would have bought one of the Mugen replicas for my RSX when they were available everywhere years ago. The Type-S has an OEM 4-point bar, but it's pretty thin and it doesn't actually attach to the struts, so I'm dubious that it does much.
