I have a 93 hatch i want to install an STR short shifter but im not sure which way to put it in. i dont want to put it in backwards can anyone tell me which way its meant to be? is it supposed to angle towards the front of the car or the back?

I heard if you retard your timing you will gain low end torque. How do i do this I really need to know.... is it worth doing this for a 1/4 mile race can i win doing this...?
