Figured out the problem.. The coil was bad. I borrowed one from someone and installed it and it finally got spark. I noticed the distributer cap gasket was broken so not sure if that contributed to the coil going out.

If the cam shafts are not moving yes the timing belt could be broken or the distributer shaft could be broke... both things to look at. I would actually suspect the coil or the ignition module inside the distributer. Watch this and see if it helps. Keep in mind when he is showing you how to...

Did you check the screen filters inside the solenoid itself... there is two in there that need to be clean.
