Im betting on the bottom end somewhere.. rings or damaged wall.. had the trouble you had with a chipped intake valve and replaced the head only to find out that the bottom end was the culprit..

My timing is dead on at 16 degrees.. It has a brand new tensioner, w.pump, and belt.. I just replaced the head and head gasket a few months ago.. the valve lash is set to .003 intake, .007 exhaust.. I have titanium springs and retainers in the head.... Furthuring my investigation i have air...

So you had it runnin or it kicked over and shut off.. My guess is that the ecu isnt for the b20.. What motor was in the car obd1 or obd2. What gen is the b20. obd1 or obd2?? need more details on the setup!
