Keep your tranny. Buy a H22 from a 97+ Prelude(OBD2). Enjoy. With minor modifications, everything will bolt up and work. Try to get an ECU to match that motor. Since you are already OBD2, try to stay that way. Don't buy a 92-96 JDM motor because it's cheaper. Expect that swap to cost you hundreds more in the long run.
Also, H22 is your best option. Very feasible and doable. V-6's are out of the question cost wise. Turbo applications are also worth consideration.
