I have a 95 ej1. With a b20z block/ pr3-3 type r head with a gsr tranny. Motor is all stock. For some reason the car had a p06 ecu. I'm tryin to get the best opinion to which is the best ecu to tune for the motor or the best stock ecu to run? I'm good with motors and stuff but when it comes to the ecu parts I don't have the know how. I just always ran my swaps with the stock ecu. And I received this car on a trade. Dude said it had a basemap on p06 but from my little knowledge. The p06 is the non vtec ecu in a 92-95 dx correct? I have the p06 and also a ls p75 ecu laying around. But want to know what the overall best ecu and tune is best? Thanks guys!!

P06 ECU's have become popular ECU's to chip and turn into a VTEC ECU (they can be found very cheap).

I would have a new chip and a socket installed (to hook it up to a laptop). This will allow you to take your motor to a dyno tuner and let him create a map specific for your motor. I would not run any stock ECU with your set up. It needs a custom tune.

But the base map on it "may" be fine. You'd know if it was a chipped and reprogrammed P06 if you feel/hear VTEC engaging.

I don't feel vtec engage. But however the car has a steady idle . When in neutral if you rev it up a limiter is at 3700. When driving it has a rev limiter at 8 k but the car skips and jumps alot. So idk fully what had been done. But I don't think vtec engages
