Ok I am ready to buy an Engine. I am looking for a fully built D15B. Sleeves, pistons, rods, everything. I live in Florida and dont know of any places to get a built engine. Anyone have any ideas on where i could get a built engine? anywhere in the USA. thx

The D15B was a great little motor. I have a 95 LX that has a D15B7 in it now. I want to go turbo and do it cheap plus still have some good power. The D15B had 130 HP stock plus it is the best swap under the B and H series swaps.

I would just like to know where i can get a good Engine built for a good price. I have already talked to D-H Racing

sorry dude but the D15B7 only has 102 horsepower stock... I have one in my 95 civic and I'll tell ya its gonna get swapped soon. As for the "best" swap, I would probably say the D16Z6 would be your best bet. That engine will give you 125 horsepower and is VTEC. But Why???

The D15B has 130. It is not the same as the D15b7. The D15B came in Japan VTI 5th gen. civics. it was a kick ass engine. I am looking for a good place to build one. THat is what i need to know some ideas on machine shops.

im still gunna have to say WHY??????????? but hey to each their own...

www.jgenginedynamics.com has D series engines, blocks, heads, whatever you want

personally i think your wasting your time and money... i dont see the point in spending thousands on a D series just to be where a B or H series would have been stock... but if you really want to be the fastest D series around and still get spanked by B/H series cars... go for it

For 2000 I can get a built D15B that can handle 15 psi and bolt strait into my car ,no mount kit. Take any Si out there even if it was slightly moded. I have seen a Turbo D16 in a rex run a 10.88. I guess its the fact that everyone goes B and H. I want to be different and have more of a braggin right when I spank a mustang with a 1.5lt. engine.

Did you ever stop and ask yourself why "everybody" goes B or H series? It's because you get more bang for your buck. So if by different you mean ignorant or cheap then yes, you will be different.

Negative,the b16a came in the 92-95 japanese siRII and the b16a2 came in the 92-95 europeon VTi.Civic EG4 1,5 LSI/VEI 90ps 92-95 sorry to disappoint.

Straight from the HS reference section y0!

D15B
.
Displacement (cc): 1493
Power (bhp@rpm): 130@6800
Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 14.1kg/m@5200
Compression Ratio: 9.6:1
Bore (mm): 75
Stroke (mm): 84.5
Cam Design: sohc
VTEC?: yes
OBD:
Year(s) Produced: 1991-1999
In the following car(s): Honda Civic VTi (EG4)

do ppl forget that we have those sections? Anyways.. you wont get more then 250-260 to the wheels in a STREETABLE fashion from a sohc d series. Even with fully built internals and mad tuning.. PSI don mean shit.. 30psi from a very very small turbo = 20 HP and 30psi from a big turbo = 400hp (exageration there).. so it all depends on your turbo y0!

PSI is PSI. how can the be different? That doesnt even make sense. 30 pound per square inch is just that. 30 Psi.

Civic EG3 1,3 75ps 92-95
Civic EG4 1,5 LSI/VEI 90ps 92-95
Civic EG5 1,6 ESI 125ps 92-95
Civic EG6 1,6 VTI 160ps 92-95
Civic EG8 Limo. 1,5 LSI/VEI 90ps 92-95
Civic EG9 Limo. 1,6 VTI 160ps 92-95
Civic EH9 Limo. 1,6 ESI 125ps 92-95
Civic EJ1 Coupe 1,6 ESI 125ps 94-95
Civic EJ2 Coupe 1,5 LSI 101ps 94-95
Here is a list of all the civics available between 92-95,no VTi with only 130hp.I've never heard of a japanese VTi.

Its not so much the fact of where its from. I just want to know where I can get a Built one and what kind of HP i can get from it. Everyone is saying that a b16 would be better. that is only .1 more displacment. Doesnt make sense to me. Displacement is displacement.

the b series are dohc motors... one cam for intake, one for exhaust.. that design will yield bigger numbers b/c its done in seperate opertations.. Its like you do all the work or have ppl help... help gets done faster.. <-- shitty analogy. Anyways.. the b16 is torqueless.. if you wantsomething for NA, go b18c1 or b18c5, if you wanna turbo.. go ls or crv with ls tranny.

The d-series trannies blow harder then a porn star.. after about 200 stuck to them, they are liable to break if you dont have aftermarket axles and lsd..even then, could shell.. B (pissedoffsol) is on his 3rd d series tranny and he has a pretty much stock motor.

Yeah, I had a thread asking that same question but i guess all the posts got deleted or something

I agree that 30 psi=30 psi, but the reason the larger turbos produce more power at the same boost levels (at certain levels) is because the smaller ones heat the air more when the boost gets turned up and turbulence is increased because the compressor has to spin much faster. Also there is a exhaust backpressure issue that the smaller turbo is more of a restriction...

ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok .................. What are some places or links to pages that offer built Honda Engines? For turbo and such.
