Ctr Or Not? You Tell Me

ok. friend has THIS engine in his car. HE CLAIMS it is a B16 from japan.
with ctr manifold and ctr headers.

do the b16's from japan come with red valve cover?

i think this is a ctr engine...

anybody?

and no, im too busy to go down to the shop and look at it in person.......

Well, its a red valve cover, if it CAME that way, its either a ctr or itr. An I-4 has headers?

how much did the guy pay for it? that should tell you right there.

you would have to see the block stamp to know if it is a CTR, B16B, and yes, those came with red valve covers, but not the reg. B16A

it has milky white connectors, so it is a obd0 distributor... so if thats how it came from japan, than no, it is not a b16b as they are obd2 engines.

Aside from the connectors as zex mentioned,there is the fact that the type R's had a polished oil hule cap,so it is a CTR cover on a B16A.
