LA Guns had THE hair, but their mucis sucked.

on the Ozzy thing, he was not hair metal, and of those listed my favorite, but GnR's first album is the shit, so, I am torn.

i voted for Motley Crue. saw them on the Dr. Feelgood tour. BADASS SHOW!!! had tons of fun and i was right up near the front rockin out.
why did you post Metallica and Ozzy as "hair bands". they arent hair bands. sure they have long ass hair but when i think of hair bands, i think of the groups that wear make-up, tight leather pants and had ozone destroying amounts of hair spray sprayed into their hair. those were called "glam bands". Metallica and Ozzy were neither of these....just some badass metal heads who rocked out and didnt give a rats ass how they looked unlike many of the "glam bands".

Poison got my vote, but had Whitesnake or Ronnie James Dio been up there I would have had a tough decision to make. Oh and Brett Michael's is the phucking man...

best 2 concerts i've ever attended, was Rush on a saturday and then Dream Theater on sunday!
rush and dream theater didnt really follow the lines of hair metal (ugly-ass graphics on guitars, songs played in e and sung 5 octives higher, and mike portnoy-sized drum kits with meg white-size riffs(with exception of van halen)), but they were there through the whole thing, and had some really 80's sounding stuff, so i consider the 80-89 Rush and Dream Theater stuff "80's metal"
