When you're connecting the hdd led and the power led, how do you tell which is positive and which is negative. Thanks.

mobo usually has a diagram in the instructions... but if not usually i try it one way then the other. you wont be shorting anything out with LEDs.

Yea that's what I do if it doesn't work one way switch it. itwon't break or blow the led.
