Street/SOHC RULES

Street/SOHC is a heads up class designed for the sohc Honda Civic platform. Entry level racers as well as hardcore enthusiasts now have an even playing field where dollars don’t amount to wins. This class will be operated and maintained by the participants with oversight from selected volunteers. 100% of the entry fees go towards event payouts, and neither sponsors, participants, nor organizers shall profit whatsoever from the event entry fees. Payouts will be based on percentages of the number of participants.
Sponsors of Street/SOHC events are limited to contingency sponsorships to be payed out to winning drivers.
Finally, an inexpensive, competitive class where you can battle it out with evenly matched cars for cash prizes and trophies without corporate red tape. See you there.

VEHICLES:
1988 through 2000 Honda Civic 2/3/4 door models only. All factory body panels must be retained. Aftermarket hoods, fenders, bodykits, ECT are allowed. One piece front end is prohibited.

WEIGHT:
All vehicles racing in this class will meet a minimum of 2200 pounds.

SAFETY:
All vehicles should comply with NHRA safety rules regarding the E.T’s they are running. All track rules will be enforced by the track and will need to be complied with to register for the class.
Vehicle Safety rules: www.NHRAsportcompact.com
Track Rules: www.RockFallsRaceway.com

INTERIOR:
Must retain factory dash, door panels, and carpet. Must have 2 matching front seats. Everything from the drivers’ seat back can be removed.

Engines Allowed:
All OEM Honda D15 and D16 sohc engines. Dual overhead cam engines prohibited. Must retain factory fuel tank. Fuel cells prohibited. External oil and water pumps prohibited.

POWER ADDERS:
Class permits 1 power adder to be used. Power adders are defined as turbochargers, superchargers, and nitrous oxide. Repetative power adders will not count as 2 power adders. Twin turbos and dual stage nitrous systems will only count as one power adder. Any system which sprays the intercooler with either water, alcohol, or nitrous prohibited.

EXHAUST:
Factory configuration must be retained and must exit out of the rear of the car behind the rear tires.

TIRES:
DOT drag radials permitted. Maximum width of 225. Biased ply tires or slicks prohibited.

FUEL:
All cars required to run pump fuel. Racing fuel accepted. Alcohol, nitro methane, or methanol prohibited.

NUMBERS:
All paying competitors will receive 1 set of decals with their Street/SOHC racing numbers on them. Your number will remain the same for the period of 1 year. Replacement numbers are available for $5 if needed.

ENTRY FEES:
All track entry fees are payed by the individual racers and have nothing to do with the Street/SOHC racing competition. Street/SOHC competition entry fees are $50 per event. Maximum of 16 car field. No vehicles will be permitted to participate in the Street/SOHC event once the 16 car field has been met.
In the event we have a structured qualifying session, all participants are expected to pay the entry fees and those not qualifying in the top 16 will be refunded their Street/SOHC competition fee.

PAYOUTS:
All competition fees payed by racers competing in the Street/SOHC events will go towards winners’ payouts. No exceptions. Numbers of competitors will affect payout amounts, but shall not change the percentages of payout for the winner and runner up after the 2nd runner up has had his entry fee returned to him.

Winner-
Payed 70% of entry fees collected plus contingencies ($525 with full 16 car field)

1st Runner up-
Payed 27% of entry fees collected plus contingencies ($225 with full 16 car field)

2nd Runner up-
Payed $50 plus any contingencies

Full 16 car fields would equal $800 in collected fees. Any future trophies or added contingency money will be payed for by sponsors of the Street/SOHC events.

Again, the goal of these events is to have fun with incentives. These events should be considered to be run and operated by the participants. All participants should present their best track conduct at all times. Any rule changes, payout changes, or disciplinary actions will be handled by a vote of the participants from the latest completed event.
