FIA rules must be followed in almost every racing sanctioning body outside the US. rally. check. formula 1. check. british and australian touring cars. check. up until very recently, the SCCA and NASA just disregarded FIA cert. even though it is mostly tougher to gain FIA cert.

quote by Catch 22 on HT:
"It hasn't ever even been a matter of testing. Pretty much all of the european suits sold in NA with SFI tags also have FIA tags. Its just a matter of the manufacturer paying more money to have the SFI label attached. Why SFI? Because that has been the SCCA's (and subsequently pretty much everyone else in North America) ass coverer from a liability standpoint. It hasn't been about the ability of the suits to do a good job.

Apparently now SCCA has secured enough FIA testing documentation to make their lawyers happy and keep their asses covered."

good. cause i would really like reclinables, and the ability to hit up the SCCA solo circut.
