So i have a 91 HF and i am considering using seafoam. I have heard that it really cleans out the engine. I am weary of it because of a number of reasons.

1. my car runs fine right now. If there was something wrong i might consider using it.

2. my rex has 204,000 miles on it. I am sure there is a lot of sludge built up in the engine but as long as it is running fine I don't really think I should mess with it.

3. I am worried that if i use seafoam there will be parts of sludge or something that will come loose and damage the engine. I might consider using it in my gas tank but not the engine.

What does everyone think? Has anybody ever heard of anything really bad occurring because of seafoam?

I ran through my gas tank, the intake, and in the crank case for 100 miles. When I put in the oil I noticed my lifters quiet down. Everythin in my intake was already pretty clean so I didnt notice anything there. I had a slightly clogged injector so when I ran an OBD2 scan it showed I was runnin a lil lean. I still havent plugged it back in to see if it did help when I ran it in the fuel.

a friend of mine runs seafoam through his car 3 times a year... never once had a problem with it.. ill be doing it after my trip to ny this weekend.

^Werd. Its in a 1 pint, white a red can. It took me while to spot it on the shelf.

Well what i think i will do is just pour some into my throttle body cause i have no idea where the brake booster cable is. and i will pour some into my gas tank. I just don't want to pour any into my crankcase because it will probably loosen up some seals that I can't afford to replace right now.

and like i can put it into that hose that is on the bottom of the fuel rail on the drivers side of the rail and can i spray it directly into the intake mani or is there a better way to put it threw the engine cus like i had an escort that the guy before me seafoamed alot and iv honestly never heard of seafoaming an engine

steel205 I have no idea what you are talking about. What I am asking is if anybody has used it before and if so where do you put it in the engine? Do you just spray it into the throttle body while revving the engine with your finger? or is there a specific hose you can just pour the seafoam into?

if you do a google search on them they show you how to use it

If you don't know what where to put it in at, I'd highly recommend that you don't do this. If you insist, please spend a few minutes on YouTube finding and then watching several different tutorial videos.

I was going to say the same thing.

If you get a can of it and read the entire label (like you should do with any chemicals you handle) it'll answer all your questions.

I was thinking about getting some of it to use in my car. My friend used it in his older Jetta and he got great results.

seafoam does work ive used it on plenty of cars and results are of the chart thats what i can say it cleans out ur whole system and u let it run for 15 mins then drive for an hour or two but yea its a perfect cleaning solution for any vehicle

if you dont wanna put it in your crank you can always get a high detergent oil or you can do an oil change. use a half quart of tranny fluid and fill the rest with oil as long as you arent usin a full synthetic and do another oil change after 200 miles it cleans everything and you will be suprised at what it can do. i did it to my S-10 and it worked wonders.

I use fully synthetic Amsoil. It already leaks oil so that is why I am not going to put it in my crankcase.

Note this.Your car will smoke like a crop duster for a few minutes if you put it in a vacuum line. I found that it works well if u let your engine slurp enough of it to nearly stall. Cut it off or let it stall and let it sit for a few minutes. Start it back up and beat it down the street. It will start smoking again so try not to piss off the cops. In about an hour the carbon will be almost gone from your pistons and valves. Ive personally seen it.
