Not sure about you guys but I play and watch golf.
I've been following Tiger's "comeback" this year.
It's been a far cry from watching him play back when I was in high school, but it was nice to finally see him win again. A small victory for us older folks.

I watched him play a LOT when I was in high school. I think even Michael Jordan would admit, that during Tiger's prime, players would simply show up to play for second place. And nobody did that with Jordan. EVERYONE wanted a piece. They all lost, but they wanted to test him. Nobody even believed they could be Tiger for a god 4-5 year period. It's something you don't see in sports very often.

I'm happy he's back. I'd like to see him win the Majors record. But I doubt he will.

Really thought he was done. Seemed like after the waffle house whores and porn stars he lost something. Not physically so much but anyone that plays golf knows it's a mental battle at much as it is physical. Plenty of guys could hit it as far or make putts, just not consistently. He always had a huge mental edge. He came to the course with a 2 shot lead.

Throw in all the back issues and swing changes etc etc and I didn't think he'd ever get it back. He's been building his game all summer up until this week.

Glad I was wrong and I tuned in yesterday to watch.

I dont even like golf and hes a hero.... made it to the top in a golf career and then to charlie sheen status and even has his own library of golf games made for him

never liked golf...always made fun of it....I started playing last year because all my friends played...took a few lessons...now im hooked...I've got out at least 50 times this year...Bought a membership Hawks Landing in Southington, CT...Joined a Thursday night league.....what an incredibly tough game...i gained a whole new respect for Golf. It's amazing how inconsistent you can play from one day to another. I'm usually good for a low 50's for 9 but there are days i'll shoot a 43 for 9. Anything under 50 for 9 or 100 for 18...im pretty happy...especially after only playing for 1.5 years. I'm going to continue to get some lessons and hopefully become more consistent. The right gear is Key...I started with some crappy gear...then..long story short i traded for a brand set for Callaway Apex Pro Forged Blades. Little did i know how dumb that was as those clubs were WAYYYYYYYY out of my league. I traded those in for the Callaway Epic Non Pro Irons 5-PW and what a difference it has made.

Anywho...

I think what Tiger did is a great thing for the game. Glad he re-established himself.

have to agree with toughness but the game doesn't interest me. i play once a year with borrowed clubs for a work function. it's a total boozefest with buffet at the end. lots of fun.

Yeah I used to play 3 times a week and now I play 1 time a year if I'm lucky. At my best I was a single digit handicap and now I'm lucky to shoot under 100.

Just don't have the time to invest in order to be good and it's not any fun for me to go out and be bad, so I just don't even bother.

I find that its those few good shots or few good holes that keep me coming back...i actually birdied 2 holes and par'd 3 holes last 18 i played...and wouldn't you know i still shot a 105.....chunked a bunch of chip shots 3 feet in front of me....3 putted almost every hole, im horrible off the tee so lost ball strokes kill me. i feel like with a few tweaks and lessons and practice i can be consistently in the 80's..

My brother in law is a pretty legit golfer...He was Captain of the golf team at Penn State, played in the US Open and various other Tournaments, on the cover of a Golf Magazine, belongs to a Country Club in PA i think is like $25,000 for a membership where his name is plastered all over the walls for tournaments he won....and he even says the difference between him and a Pro is night and day.

it's a tough game. I'm heading to a fun tournament in a couple hours. Should be good times

Golf update.
Going to Myrtle Beach soon, have a tee time next Tuesday at the Ocean Course @ Kiawah Island.
Ranked by Golf Digest as #3 public course, and #21 course in the US for the 2017-2018 season.
I happen to know a guy who knows a guy. My game is nowhere deserving of this course, and with the ocean wind it should be an absolute dismal shit show.
My guy is driving down from NY just to play 2 rounds, and then driving home.
I'll let you all know how it is.

If you ever make it out to the west coast, I'll take you to Chamber's Bay.

Looks legit. My dad played there sometime ago. Just placed a nice course in Orlando. Love playing outside of my state and trying new courses.

I think the nicest course I have played to date would be the 27 hole Jack Nicholas course at Moon Palace Cancun.
It was an experience for sure, and I hope to never go back to Mexico. But the course was nice.

2nd best would probably be Grossingers. 27 holes in NY. Was probably one of the best courses in the area back when the hotels were in full operation.

we have TSMP right up the street. yes, you can listen to the sounds of our people while playing golf! (golf course is on the right :) )
