Speedometer Question/problem

Hey all, i just finished my b18a into 1990 CRX Si and i got it running and all was going well till I took my friend for a cruise, the Speedometer went dead, and the engine check light came on, as u know u have to replace the speedo cable when doing the swap. I haven't checked anything yet. but what should i check for. should i check the back of Dash?look at the speedo itself, or what? please help me i wanna get this this delt with asap. , sry just had to put that in its to halarious not to.

I'd start looking in the bay first.Did you swap out the cable yet?

Ya i got a new cable and did everything right but it still isnt working.

I had the same problem with my speedometer jumping around, all i had to do is disconnect then reconnect the VSS sensor and it was fine. Its doing it again now but it may just be my bad clip rattling loose or something. Not sure if this is much help but i would try if you still got the problem

id be doin a quick check at the tranny first. make sure it didnt pop loose..


will a no speed signal in a car that old throw a check engine light ?? or is it just coincidental???
