I'm test driving a 95 Camaro Z28 vert today. I've been looking at Camaros and Mustangs a lot recently, ever since paying off my car, and finally found one worth driving. Does anyone know of certain things to check on Camaros that are known to go bad? Any help would be appreciated.
And if you dont' like F-bodies, you need not reply.

convertibles are heavy heavy heavy. But they hold their value very well. Keep the roof lubricated, because if the mechanism seizes it will rip the fabric.

Also, that Camaro looks mint. Good luck with it
 
I wonder if that is my friend's camaro.. He just sold a MINT z28 convertible on ebay for $4500.. I couldn't believe it. But it did have the camaro probs, like crappy window mechanisms, leaky top, wind noise like mad.. It would friggin get after it when you hit the throttle though.

F bodies have poor resale as of recently due to the high gas prices and the lack of demand.


Personally I'd check that all the wiring is working and that the interior is still intact. My girlfriend's sister had one and had horrible problems with wiring issues and the interior just falling apart.

I like f bodies, but she hated hers and it was a convertible as well, a '98 I believe.
 
bah, the vert was garbage. but i found a 94 with only 73k miles with a perfect carfax history. it never even left the state. i'm looking into loans this week for it. same color, just the t-tops.
300hp is quick :)

94s only come with 275... does it have mods and a dyno saying 300?

93-95 275 hp LT1
96-97 285 hp LT1 (305 for the 97 SS)
98-00 305 hp LS1 (320 for the SS)
00-02 310 hp LS1 (325 for the SS)
 
if u must get a camero the only worthy one are the LS1 motor...the LT1 was crap and i thourghly enjoy beating them with my uber stock LS in my eg coupe...the LS1 are nothing to shake a stick at. go for the 6 speed to

LS1s only come with a 6 speed, and LT1s are no joke when modified correctly.

Dunno where I got my 300hp from, it was listed on some car spec site. But you're correct on the numbers. 275hp and 325lb tq.

You know nothing of the LT1's. And this isn't my project car, that's what the civic is for. I want a daily driver.

Very... cause I was about to say the same thing. In fact, I know 3 people that own auto LS1's. And every one went 13.2 or better mostly stock, and they're all 12.8 or faster now. :)
 
Yeah LT1s are garbage

stick to the b-series honda motors, they are teh roxors. I mean hell, the LT1 is weak sauce.. Its a friggin corvette engine. Why would anyone want that shit. Corvettes are teh slow.

I got a new apartment, so there went a ton of money. I'm gonna hold off til maybe this winter or later to get a Camaro. Probably find a good deal with snow on the ground.
So the money for a downpayment is going towards painting my new front bumper and ordering a VIS hood.
 
i have a friend that has an auto LS1 and is 12.90 in the quarter, but the LT1 motors are garbage. whatever u do man just dont get a mustang!!!!

Oh and Prowler had an Sn95 GT before his current Civic.

no i do know a bunch about them. i have tons of friends that had LT1 and i lit them up in ls swap coupe. that motor wasnt that strong and im sure with the correct mods anything can be fast but the LS1 is a far far superior motor to the LT1 i dont know any LT1 that ran lower than a 15. - 14.5 maybe thats just here in sacramento. I know off the lot a LS1 is hot shit. my SuperCharged LS hatch has problems fuckin with the LS1's. you show me an LT1 off the lot that was low 13's

Show me a supercharged LS powered hatch off the lot and I'll show you a 13 second LT1. ;)

I'm not saying they're all that, but the engine is a damn good engine for what it is.
 
13 sec LT1? lol modified yea, stock no way. I've seen too many running 14.5 with stuff done to them. Its like comparing apples and oranges, in either case the motor that has more out of the box is the LS1, same thing with D series to Bseries motors, the b series has gots more ballz in stock form. Hence forth why we are all on "Honda Swap".
