I know with a dsm you can use an ecu from a manual trans in a dsm with an automatic and vice versa. I'm doing a mini-me swap, d16y7 block with a z6 head. Wondering if I can use a P28 ecu for a manual trans in my automatic 99 civic dx.

Would the P28 ecu work inside of a 95 DX with the 1.5 manual trans?? Gonna do a head swap to make it V-Tech in a few months and I just want to know what exactly I'm gonna need to do so.

Yes. P28 is in 92-95 Si/EXs and should plug up. A automatic ECU will work in both manual and automatic, but a manual ECU will only work in manual transmission. This is due to the transmission lock-up solenoid being controlled by the ECU.

96-00 have a slightly different ECU harness.

It's VTEC. (V-Tech is a phone company).
