Update!

I'll let the pictures do all the work.
The pics of the dents in my hood is where I got a little over-zealous and beat the underside of it and it warped the top a little bit. Some of it came out, but it's still there. It's ok, though. I have that carbonfiber hood I've been thinking of repairing and using, or I can just do a little repair to this metal hood.. no biggy.

the only thing holding me back from starting it is oil.
I talked to my tuner and he said to just turn down the fuel pressure to like 15-20lbs and see if that helps it idle (with these big injectors). That way I can heat cycle it and check for leaks and such!

I'm sortof scheduled to get it tuned with him (if all goes well) next Saturday!

If guys run just 1 ok, I figure I'll run 2 to be "safe." None of my T-bolt's were small enough.

I vote for the CF hood.

Also, make Terrance take that POS back and have them weld some beads onto the ends. Or else 10 band-clamps won't hold it on.

Also, Nice.

Do it now, then you won't have to worry about it. It might be a good idea to bead the charge tube from the turbo too.

You need another silicone coupler, that one that is too big will come right off, no matter how many clamps you've got on it.

It's not that its too big it's just a little bit of an angle, making the bottom poke up a little.
It should run pretty good for now. we'll see what happens when i start boosting it.

Actually a little boost leak wouldn't hurt me right now. I'm not so sure what this thing is going to do with 10 lbs(WG) so if it only boosts to 5-8 I'm good with that. I'll fix it accordingly, but just to be 'safe'...

#1 = Fail.

It's GOTTA be the headgasket.
I'm going to try and get my hands on a leak down checker tonight and do that sometime this week...

Haha thats exactly what happened. I slipped that snap clamp back and clipped in a worm clamp too. so now it doesn't leak... that was thankfully the ONLY leak i had during the runup and heat cycle process! wow is that cool. thats never happened to me before; on any of my engine swaps! IDK what that means. Better mechanic or Better motors?

The test looked a bit unbalanced anyway. How long has it been running? Did you warm it up before the test?

Probably better mechanic. If you do it enough you're bound to get better. I haven't done anything much so I'm terrible. Sounds right to me, haha.

For the record, I tried to get Andrew to do a compression test THE DAY WE DRILLED THE HEADGASKET!!! Or at the bare minimum, shortly after.

My reason: So when (yes, not if, WHEN) you test it and its leaking, you can go ahead and get a new one in and ON your engine BEFORE you get your turbo stuff ready.

Now, your turbo is ready, but your engine is not. It does not make me happy in the pants. And I don't like not being happy in the pants.

Anyway, get that leakdown test done Wednesday mang! And, if I was in yoru position, I'd order a OEM headgasket and throw on your 5 lb or 7 lb wastegate and call it a day. Plenty of 11:1 CR motors out there with bewst. You know Max is gonna put a good, safe tune on there.. and thats the main thing to worry about. I mean, think about Tracy's 302: 15:1 compression ratio and he's spraying 150 shot of nitrous. I have no idea what that static CR (isn't that the right one?) goes to when he's spraying, but it's gotta be alot.
