Default My $1200 turbo project *might be 56k friendly*

A couple of shots of my civic. I know the pics
are gay, but fuck it.

anyways...
I just got done installing a homemade turbo in my fodo'.
Its a b18b engine (stock) with a 57 trim
t3t4 turbonetics turbo.
Most of the turbo parts were bought at local shop and forums.
It took me 4 days to get this thing rolling.
I spent about $1100-1200 for this project including
a couple used gauges (boost and oil press). Thanks Ripperbone.
Not too shaby compared to almost 3 grand i spent 2 years
ago for the drag3 kit. This is pretty much the same shit
for half the price.

I'll be tuning it with crome.

Here she is. My sleeper 4 door. WHat do you think? Do i look gay
in the last pic? lol

edit: The intercooler is now painted black. ALso bought a Tial BOV and mounted it 6" from the turbo.

can't really see your setup in those pics but the car looks nice

why did you put the BOV so close to the turbo?

I also have a gsr swap that im building for next year. im looking for at least 400whp outta that one.

I think you can hit a least 250whp on a t3/t4 57 trim @ 10 psi

I would do something about the oil line over the valve cover. SS braided line works as a great low speed file... your valve cover will look like garbage if you leave that line rubbing on it...

just a heads up. the build looks great! what a sleeper!

Oh, and why is the a/c compressor still bolted on?

i wanted to keep the ac, but after buying this other gsr motor, i decided to get rid of it...
Im taking it off today.

as for the ss braided line. well, it does look a little fucked up. Imma try to hide it.

I'll work on that today.
More pics coming tonight.

My friend got 264 WHP with a very very similar setup like yours on 93 octane. The engine had ultra low miles though.

BIttchhhhh...

so ahh yeah i finally got time to start playing with CROME, and for some reason the ARF @ idle was 9.8 to 10.3 <--not good at all.

After playing with it for a little bit, and fouling my plugs twice, i finnally got it up to 13.1- 13.8 @ idle which is still a little off, but better than before.

Im working on idle first and then start tuning under boost. Hopefully i can get it tuned for 10psi with no problem.

Cant wait for better weather. The snow storm fucked everything up. :-(
