Im looking to get 220 hp to the wheels with the b20 setup in my ef. I picked up a gutted GSR head i plan to rebuild it with skunk 2 valve train and run GSR cams along with a skunk 2 IM and header. I have seen alot of b20vtecs putting down 180 with a stock b16 head and eBay i/h/e any other suggestion's?

^^^ header i will be running Compact version

Port n' polish, intake manifold, bump the compression via headgasket/milling/pistons/etc., and of course, get it tuned by somebody who knows what they're doing.

The disadvantage of using the B20 block is that the bore is larger then any of the other B-series engines, so expensive after-market pistons are your only option (as opposed to using ITR/CTR/B16/etc. pistons)...

Its not very hard to get 220 whp with a b20 vtec (CRVTEC). U should just build the head a bit for high compresion and maybe some forged pistons or something like that! If i were u though i would greatly consider slapping a lil turbo on there! my buddy has a completly stock b20b block with a SIRG head exeption of ARP head bolts rods and studs an a t3 turbo from a 86 volvo, funny i know but the turbo spools at 2400 RPM and he puts down 242whp. Very torqy! Sti killer! 12.8 1/4 mile on baby slicks! Hope that was helpfull.

sounds like a sick ride but i have seen n/a b20's run 12.7's all day in a ek weighing 2450 lbs my ef only weighs 2100 or so pounds. I have also heard that b20 cylinder walls are not very strong and can only handle 8-10 lbs of boost.

not true RS machine makes ITR replica pistons in 84.5-85mm check out HT.

True, but those aren't technically OEM pistons. I guess I shouldn't have said "expensive" when I explained it, because there are cost effective solutions. I just meant that you can't directly swap any other B-series pistons into a B20 block...
