So I just found this chick on myspace who has a 1989 RX-7 she just got not long ago.

I just sent her a message saying I'll offer her 5000 for it.
which is 1000 more than the resale on one in excellent condition.

WTF was I thinking! It's at best in fair condition. With a torn up top. [its a convertible]

Anyways I'm gonna post some pics up. Check it out...

she calls this clean, which means the hood is pretty jacked up as far as the finish

driver side, sheet metal looks pretty good
that be a messed up top, as you can see it's pretty much f**ked

My mission here is to find out what condition category this falls under.

Cuz the body looks good minus the top, hood, and trunk lid.

Its got the good wheels though which I like.

Rough on the interior, but not too bad.

Oh, and it looks like it's missing the pass. side door panel.

and im not sure about getting a rotary with so many miles.
help if ya can, need some opinions on this

i was thinking if the engine gave out i could just throw a sr20 or a s2k motor in there and be just fine.. i know a shop that does those swaps beautifully

What you really need is some common sense.

The worst part of that car is the interior and the rag-top. Put a new top on it, clean the body (Including the door seals, etc.) and you'll have a decent car. If you're worried about the shape of the body, why bother dropping another 5 grand on an engine swap that the car wasn't designed for?

i wouldnt pay very much for that old beater....

if your goal was to just use it as a shell and start over with it, then sure. but as it sits, that is not a good buy.

there is a white one up here where I live that is for sell. I bet you could talk to the person and get it down some. It is white convertible and in real nice shape. it is in the dickinson area ND.

I love those cars, but there is no way in hell I would ever pay $5K for that thing, its roached, maybe $500.

Werd. I thought it was a typo when I saw $5k. I hope you didn't buy it. If you did, get rid of it and start over.

Well from a current fc rx7 owner (1991) I'd say thats pretty er average. However just a tip, a lot of fc rx7 parts are not interchangeable with the convertible model (just so you know). It is REALLY hard to find parts for these cars period. So unless you like searching and waiting for parts I don't reccomend it....so getting a new top is going to be costly. However dents are not hard to fix and except for the side panel the interior is not in the worst shape. That aside the miles thing is not that big of an issue. These cars..if treated right can last a long time and are not as hard to work on as people make it look.

Definitely not worth 5000 i got mine for 4000 and its in way better condition..

yeah i did not buy the car, wont be able to any time soon anyways..

im not gonna pay more than 4k for it. that is IF i buy it lol

i wouldnt offer a dime over $1200 for that thing

well it doesnt matter now, the biatch went oof on me when i offered her the 5k

what a dumass hoe... she flipped out cuz it's her first car and shit and i was like yo! hold up now .. .. im out :burnout:
