I already told you why it is being limited to 80. Some highways in the US have a speed limit of 75. Sometimes people just need to pass. Kids don't need to do 80+, ever.
I drive through a school zone with a crossing guard every morning. EVERY morning. You have no idea how many people completely ignore the flashing yellow lights between 7 and 8:30 and 2 and 3:30... and I'm not talking about teenagers with that.
This key will limit kids from blaring music so they can't hear anything else around them and this key will limit kids from drag racing.
Honestly the only kids this will effect are the spoiled brats. Who can afford to buy their teen a new car? If it's a family car it'd work, but generally parents buy their kids some cheap pos, or let the kid buy themselves a cheap pos as their first car. If we're going to be talking about this, why not just make it mandatory to install a governor on all teens cars? It could be done for $200 per car I'm guessing.

If you want to call parents 'lazy' because they're taking this extra step with a vehicle that limits their kids, then you're obviously not a parent with a teen who's driving. All this is is another tool for parents to use to keep their kids and the road safe.
Then why target teens? Why not put this in everyones vehicle?
Now they need a short-range cell jammer. Hell, I wish I had one with a 500 foot range... I'd keep it on pretty much all the time.
They do make them...but they're illegal...
I could care less. Anything to get dumbassess off their cellphone while they're swerving around me. And I'm not talking about teenagers... these are soccer moms in SUVs that don't look before changing lanes because they're talking to hubby about what "rebel" thing their child did today.
why doesn't every car in america have a speed limiter to fit the local limit?
no more speeding tickets and tons of courthouses could be phased out.
...and we should teach our children the difference between "driving" and "operating a motor vehicle".
and what's the difference between the teen limiter and a valet key?
