The car is not mine but i'm helping build the motor its a 1998 Acura Integra LS 1.8 b18b1... Motor is toast so its time to pull her out and start fresh.. If you guys can help me find some parts.. I need the GSR pistons, Eagle rods, V'tech head that will work with it, some performance cams, and any thing else you guys can think of.. I'm trying ot make this a budget build for a poor high school student.. thanks guys..

Try checking out our Parts For Sale section everyonce in a while to find some good deals and discounts. There's a few sets of cams up for sale now.

it's not V'tech, and it has nothing to do with a V.

VTEC. Variable valve Timing and Electronic lift Control. remember that before someone reems you about it. lol

What caused the motor to become toast? This helps determine what else is needed.

And since this is your first post, a little automotive background about yourself will help those answering give you a better answer.

Sorry about the VTEC thing but i'm used to building V8's.. i'm currently a student at wyo tech in laramie wyoming so i know my way around a car lol.. not so sure on the details that made the motor toast but thats just what they dude said..

well these are interferance engines. when they become toast, it's not uncommon for block or head damage to occur

well hopefully the block is still ok or can be fixed.. still not sure whats going on with it, i need to get back to colorado to pull it out and see whats up..

i wouldnt go with GSR pistons there pretty much the samething as ls pistons... if u want compression go with pr3's (jdm b16a) or if u want higher go with civic type r pistons.... also its called ls/vtec... your planning on rebuilding the whole motor which is good... but the eagle rods are kinda overkill if u ask me... stock one would do just fine.. get the journals crosshatched and new bearings with arp rod bolts... then i would get arp main bolts and head studs... just to be on the safe side... also ur gonna need to run a extra oil line to run vtec... golden eagle makes a sweet kit... u can find them on ebay for like $200 and it takes like 15 min to hook up... and for cams i wouldnt run anybigger than type r cams... if u gonna build the head than thats different... but thats just me... and u can use any vtec head.. doesnt matter which one.. but if u use a GSR head u have to use the GSR intake manifold... i wouldnt use a GSr head tho stick with a b16 head... alot better in my opinon.. i hoped that helped....

im in colorado and know my shit about hondas if you need help let me know

and as far as what you need for a rebuild or whatever it depends are you trying to do a horsepower build or just a pretty much oem?? and by the way i got some ctr cams for sale let me know

i have a built ls/vtec in my car and can show you what it looks like as far as the oil line and all that

also you will need to use a vtec water pump just to be safe and any oil pump from a b series thats a 96+ integra or civic

how do u make a ls into a vtech i need to know i need to do it and how much will i cost?

Man, I JUST came back to this forum recently, and after reading through some of the posts, I doubt I'll stay. Sure they asked a question that's been asked a bunch, so ignore it if nothing else, no reason to insult them like that.

If you don't like it here, then don't stay here. It's no big loss to the community.

And FYI, I feel perfectly justified giving someone like that a hard time. If no one says anything they'll just keep doing it...
