just got a 91 si with a b16a and it drove fine for the first 2 day, and then I was driving home and I was at a stop sign let the clutch out and it just died. So I got it off the road and it sarted up but every time I push the gas in the rpms would just go way down, so I would let off the gas and it would go back up. Well I got it home and I changed the fuel filter and drove it around and it did fine. I let it sit for all week and I took it out last night and I didnt get a block away and it was doing it again. Also it made a crazy sound sometimes when I try and start it like it was coming out of the intake. any help would be greatly appreciated
 
Could be a variety of things, You need to start be checking your fuel pressure if you dont have a gauge it would be a wise idea to invest in one. The pressure should be close to 38 lbs.
 
check for spark..is the gas old??
check timing belt..theres alot to check first
 
ok will check those things. also the cluster was all messed up so I got a differnt cluster it is a dx cluster would that do anything to the computer or anything at all?
 
it shouldnt..but what do you mean it was "messed up"
if your talking about the rpms then it sounds to me like your dizzy...you could try replacing your cap and rotor first..if that doesnt work then try the actual dizzy

it was messed up meaning every time I put the blinker on all the gauges went crazy, so I found a cluster really fast and it happened to be a dx one and I put it in and the next day is when all of this started. I drove the car last night and it drove just fine its like it happens every other time i drive it
