zombie satellite?!?!

fuck now i need to rework my whole damn zombie plan... i hadnt factored for having to handle satellites

does the same "destroy the head/brain" practice still work with them??? and where the hell is the head/brain???

this is going to take a lot more preparation

This is pretty cool. At least to me since I work I the sattelite industry. I'm going to guess that although the communications equipment wasn't damaged in the flare, that the command verification electronics or command controller was. Which would explain why the comm equipment works but commands do nothing.

Also on this
It's also caused people to wonder "how many satellites are in space." Not enough to bump into each other. Yet.
that's BS right there. My spacecraft flies at 705km altitude as do A LOT of other satellites. Orbits have to be tightly maintained to avoid collision. Although they are talking about a satellite in geosynchronous orbit, which is much higher, has a lot more room, and has less satellites.

Once the 3D viewer loads go to Satellite>Select and you can click on Galaxy 15.

You'll see that it's in relatively the same orbit as a LOT of satellites.

We need some folks who can build us some EMPs. That would destroy the brain right quick!

A high level atomic explosion would do it . . but then there would be no satellites in orbit.

Maybe there will be an asat test in the near future?
