That does look good! I have so many unused plugs that just float around in my engine bay.. lol

nice!

so now you have to connect the remaining wires? I thought you were going with a quick fitting or something?

no, its not done yet. the guy just sends me progress pics every day.

he's now finished the engine harness up to the firewall disconnect. he just needs to make the chassis side from the disconnect to the chassis plugs and the ECU plugs. all i will have to do is wire up the chassis harness to the plugs on this harness. im completely rewiring the chassis anyway.

im a tard, i thought you meant you got it this morning.

that looks awesome!

damnit im tired of spending money, i need this.

brutal, i know what those all cost!

did you figure out how you are doing the cage? if you buy pre bent i got a decent deal on dom from safedrives on honda-tech. charles buren, really good guy.

ill probably just have it all custom made. i cant weld. and i want the cage tight. on the pillars.

part of me wants to just get the rear roll bar, the other part of me wants to get the full cage (no door bars, not taking windows out yet). we'll see.

seats and harness wont be too bad. im looking at the corbeau FX1 pro. mike (B16) says they arent too comfortable, but F it, they are cheap, fiberglass backed, FIA cert, and can take a 6 point. he's trying to push me on the sparco evos, but i can get 2 new corbeaus for the price of 1 evo lol

i hear you with the cage, you could just x bar it and not cut the doors.

i sat in the fx1s at rolex this past year and they werent that bad.

i mean with the evos your talking 1 seat vs 2 for the same price. I like racetech personally but again i paid about 800 for my 1 racetech.

dont forget that coupon code i gave you unless you find them cheaper some where else.

apexperformance.net darksidede 10% off and free shipping on 2 fx1s

oh yeah. forgot about that. thanks!

wondering if i should pick up the aluminum side mounts too (99 ea) or try to source them from elsewhere cheaper.

check other sites but the discount helps.

I got my hans, boots, some fluids, and roll bar padding there but got my seat and side mounts from bimmerworld actually.

I dont know if you need any other safety gear but if you go to ompusa they sell things much cheaper than i have seen anywhere.

theres nothing better than being comfortable out on the track, in your own sofa bucket seat!

Sparco Evo > Corbeau Fx1. I have both, you've sat in both. Get a good seat. ;) The Sparco was only $620.

Thats my next racetech seat on the right. Gsrcrxsi you should just get this...its like sitting in a warm vag! only $1400

jesus. lol too rich for me lol.

its just an HPDE car now. ill think about a better seat when/if i get more serious. since im buying two, it makes sense for me to go with the cheaper corbeau. i need a seat for my instructor lol. i can get the 2 corbeaus for <600 shipped and theyll get the job done.

im thinking about going full cage, and not just the roll bar. my main reason for doing the roll bar was because i didnt want the builder to have to mess with taking the dash out and shit. since the wiring was so bad. and im sure he wouldnt want to mess with that either. but now that im going to clean it all up and make it nice and neat under the dash. itll be easier for them.

how much am i looking at for a 6 point? main hoop with cross brace, rear supports to the rear shock towers with cross brace, front hoops with cross beam under dash. i figure maybe 2500 for a MIGed cage? i have no idea anymore. i still need to find a place around here.

I know you will be fine with the corbeau's until you get serious, I think after about 5 hpde's you will want to get competitive or maybe not.

I pulled the seat pics from a bmw guys build and he had the cobra first and then had some issues with it and got them to replace it because the threads broke on the side mount! thats why he got the race tech for his driver seat.

roll cage:

do a full cage first and the right way. I made the mistake of doing a roll bar with erw which wasnt legal so I had to pull it out and re-do it all.

There is a guy here in orlando that will do a full legal scca ITB cage with dom for about $1600. So I wouldnt pay much more than that unless you just dont have any options. I would go with 1.50/1.75 x .095 or so dom and follow scca or nasa ccr or gcr so down the road you arent screwed if you do honda challenge or STU in scca.

I paid $800 for my pre bent dom kit and will be welding it in with my friend luckily.
