decided on an early christmas gift to myself(really for free from a gift card). upgraded my Onkyo 674s(which is still a great receiver) to a Yamaha RX-V671 after billions of hours of researching AV Receivers in my price range. This one has everything i was looking for. more HDMI ports 6 vs 2, network ready with the ability to steam pandora and music from my home setwork, more power 135watts vs 95watts and HDMi standby passthrough along with a boat load of other features. Should get it next monday $440 shipped.

I'm debating selling my Onkyo 674s for $250 shipped, or keeping it for another setup for when I buy a house for the man cave or even a bedroom system. Would make an excellent second receiver for some mid range speakers.

if anyone is interested let me know i may sell it.

I've been looking at Yamaha's for awhile now. Let me know how you like it when you get it set up. That RX series is supposed to be the shit.

Receiver came yesterday. Right off the bat i can say this....this is a HUGE upgrade my on Onkyo 674s in terms of sound and setup. Right out of the box the sound quality was easily noticable. Clean crips highs that i didn't even know existed out of my speakers. The Auto Speaker configuration took about 3 minutes compared to the 15 minutes with the Onkyo. It has a cleaner look about as well. I haven't hooked it up to the internet yet only because i read that it may install an update that for some people caused some minor problems so I will wait. The on screen menu options is definately a plus and much easier to navagate.

I definately like the Onkyo remotes better, its cleaner and easier to use and feels better made but ..well...it's a remote so no biggie... The only real downfall so far to this receiver is that its not wireless.
