So right now i have a d16y7, im new to cars. Kind of got fucked over on this car, but theres no turning back now and im sticking with it. The engine is shot. Its leaking oil and the exhaust manifold is cracked. The transmission is also making noises which has made me beleive that the input shaft bearing is shot too.

Ive been looking on kijiji for b16a engines, im not entirely sure what to look for. I know what i need for a b-series swap. Money is a issue here. It would cost more to fix my d16 then to buy a used b-series.
 
Those engines are reallllly expensive i was looking under a 1000$ even if it was a b/d. Just a low milage less than 150,000.

What exactly are you trying to do? If your looking for reliable then id grab a D16Y8 or a d16z6 and slap it in.


If done correctly you can shop around and find a motor and transmission cheap. I did a complete d series swap, replaced clutch and added headers and other MISC gaskets for a little under 1000.


By the way you might just need to freshin up the current motor you didnt give much details other then its leaking oil and a crack mani.
