ok here goes... I started off with an odb1 engine and converted it to an odb2b with the b16 oil pump/crank angle sensor, obd2 Tb (gsr), and distributor (gsr). picked up a 99-00 si harness, odb2b to odb1 conversion harness with a odb1 p72. my problem is this-I am getting spark and fuel but it will not start. my car has been sitting for three weks now and I am gettng tired of driving my winter beater before it is nessasary:mad:. any help would be great. thanks in advance.

Why did you convert your oil pump to an obd 2? When you did that did you add your crank angle position sensor? You might wanna check that and you also might wanna check your wiring that was done after you did that. Your better off keeping it obd 1.

I dont understand why you converted an obd1 motor to obd2b and you chose to run an obd1 ecu, that makes the whole obd conversion pointless...

I converted the motor with all of the sensors because it went into a 2000 civic hatch which we all know is odb2b. with the wiring, I have not cut a single bit of the harness as of yet so it can not be that. thanks for the responce though. dtacc

An eg civic has a harness that is split in the engine bay while an ek is a one piece that is routed straight into the cab. since I am installing the motor into an obd2b car and using an obd2b harness those two factors made it impossible to keep the motor obd1

Sorry if my repsonces sounded rude, I am just very frustrated right now. I have done 50+ swaps in my years working for a local shop but because the owner is a thief and I no longer talk to him I have to turn to the boards for issues that stump my little circle of honda friends.

Hey bud. Does the motor just crank over and fire like it wants to start?

you did a lot of work that you didn't have to do, you could kept the motor obd1, with your si harness and pluged up the p72 and would of called it a day, but anyways you might of jumped timing who knows.....it could of happened:huh:

oh ok,so this is in a 00 civic?I thought you had it in a obd1 car and converted to obd2b..kinda lost me

If it's just rotating and you are getting spark and fuel double check your timing. When you check it make sure your not on the exhaust cam and that your on the intake cam which I'm sure your already know but double check that and let me know

well guys I did a compression check and found 185,180,150, and 205 in that order from one to four. I pulled it back out and put the stock motor in and just going to have to rebuild the b18. thanks again for all the help.
