Ok, so I've gone through my phases as an independent teenager(as in making my own decisions/paying my own expenses). I was a full time student working about 10 hours a week and scraping change together everyday, I worked 50 hours a week for a while, but now I've hit a terrible phase that's been going on for about 2.5 months(since I got laid off). I haven't been working, I'm awake more of the night than day, and I'm hardly helping my father out around the property which helps our relationship. My self-discipline has gone to shit and I need something fairly drastic to change it(short of the military and stay off my ass about it please). What I'm looking for is a position on a cruise ship(waiter or such) to get away from my mess for a bit or something similar. I just want to get away from home.

If you know of a position that I'd be interested in, I'll travel... Anyone know how hard it is to get a position on a cruise? Know of another option besides cruise lines? Hell, give me a place to sleep and I'll build a freaking shed for you =P

Someone Artie works with does nothing but travel. Owns no home. Goes from place to place installing cables and what not. I'll give you a place to stay, you can find pretty much anything out here. Cruise sounds like a nice job, though. They port in FL, I'd hit up Carnival or Princess. I do know that they advertise for it a lot on Craigslist even in Stockton locale to try and get people to come on a cruise ship... They leave from Los Angeles and San Diego too.

search the cruise ship companies. try to get a job on a singles cruise. you live in florida and 90% of cruises sale from florida or california.
 
Funny thing.... since I made this thread, I've either stayed up all night to work during the day or got barely any sleep. Either way, I've been busting my ass during the day like I used to. I still did during the past 2 months, but like 2 days a week and only half the day.

Misti, Idk if you were being sarcastic or not, but I couldn't ask of someone to let me live in their house. If I were in Cali for whatever reason and it was temporary, I prefer someone's house over a hotel unless I'm on a mission to get laid.

Nick, I'm not quite looking for a career and I would believe that people wouldn't want an 18 year old bartender =X. Just looking for a change for a little bit.

Blanco, I appreciate your advice, I'm always reading insightful posts from you whether people find some of your opinions rude or not. That being said, it's not so much that I don't think I can't fix this, it's just a lack of "umph" atm. I just kind of want a change for a little bit. Maybe it's that I want to feel somewhat independent for a few months, I'm not entirely sure... It's just that my father and step mom are moving to another state soon and I don't plan on going with them, but Idk how I'm going to survive. I just want to take some time away from my normal life to think my options over. Oh, and I have always wanted to get into martial arts. I love lifting and cardio on a punching bag, I know I would love that. I'll ask the prices tomorrow at the gym. What's the average cost for one of these classes and how long are they?
 
My Ex worked at for Disney one summer during college. They have their own apt complex that you live at while you are there so you around people the same age. Apparently from what I saw and heard about it is nothing but working and partying. Getting laid is easier than taking money out of the ATM and there is always a party. That is actually why my ex is my ex. - she had a few bad habbits and I could never keep their names straight.
