The remix is alright. It just doesn't have the same staying power for me.

Till I collapse is probably the greatest song to pump me up right before I unrack that weight.

I see what you mean. I like it, but then again I guess I don't work out to it. He did a bunch of other shit, it's pretty good imo

I'll listen to anything while working on the car(s), but the Civic seems to have picked its own theme song.

Back when the Civic was running (half a decade ago, now!), Like a Stone by Audioslave would be on the radio every time I would turn the key. Every single time, maybe 15 times in a row. Granted the song was new at the time and was in the process of being played out, but it was still spooky.

A short while later the radio went out, and there was silence in the Civic for about a year. My Dad finally got tired of it and took the car to Best Buy to have a $40 head unit installed. Terrified that they'd mess my car up I went over to oversee the install. When they got it working and tested it, after a year of silence, what was the first thing that played? Like a Stone.

Later on the timing belt broke, the reason it's still torn down to the shell and receiving rust repair in the garage to this day (yes I'm incredibly slow). At first it sat in the driveway though, for about 6 months. When I finally decided to push it into the garage to work on it, I turned on the radio to test the battery. Guess what was playing? Like a Stone.

And now just a few weeks ago I was fabbing up replacement metal for the rusty radiator support. Was cutting the lower passenger side of the support out when a spark from the air cutter jumped under my safety glasses and hit me in the eye. I had been in the garage for about 6 hours and was getting frustrated with the car... With that spark in the eye, I had made the final decision to scrap the car and start looking for a fresh one. This was it, I was done. But as I usually do when working on the car I had my laptop with me in the garage, hooked up to some old speakers, running the Pandora project on random. Literally within the same second that I made the decision, what song popped up and started playing?

You guessed it.

I just had to keep it. After everywhere it's taken me and after breaking down so long ago, it's been waiting for me there, like a stone.

That story brings a tear to my eye... So touching. But really, that is awesome.

Pretty much the same stuff all the time I guess...36Crazyfists, All that Remains, Bullet for my Valentine, In Flames, Shadows Fall, Atreyu, ect for the shop or working out...I listen to some Tech9, Ice cube, Fort Minor, old school rap when I drive at times.

If I need to be able to concentrate on what I'm doing I listen to classical music for motivation. If it's something I do for fun and requires no thought, I listen to just about anything. as my last.fm profile will show

ppl look at me like i listen to strictly rap..lol
I DONT.i listen to linkin park, red jumpsuit, puddle of mudd.shit liek that..and every once in awhile i listen to country..but my fav is when im driving..gotta have the techno.

From Autumn To Ashes, A Static Lullaby, Bring Me the Horizon ... and especially if im in a faster driving mood i listen to The Acacia Strain or August Burns Red. :)
... also stuff like Sugarcult, Copeland, and Bright Eyes.

Classic rock, Boston, Zepplin, Doors, a little rush, Pink Floyd, Skynard, etc. Then a lot of 90's rock Pearl Jam, Stone Temple, Rage, Soundgarden, NIN, Nirvana, etc.
Then to Pantera, Hell yeah, Mudvayne, Seven Dust, Cinder Road, Veltvet Revolver, some Alter Bridge, Five Finger Death Punch, etc.

I also forgot Focus by Hocus Pocus, used to be called the yodelling song on a local classic rock station. Its a weird song but I like the guitar in there.

You are right, I typed it wrong the band is focus. They used to play that on WHCN preriver all the time.

When I work out, I listen to music. I was wondering what any of you guys (or gals) listen to when you work out, and then I realized I listen to music when working on the rex, and I wondered again what you guys listen to, and why?

I usually listen to either Chevelle or Lil Wayne when I work out, and sometimes a little bit of Chris Brown. Odd combination, I know, Chevelle gets me pumped and Lil Wayne just flows well I guess, I don't know, and as far as Chris Brown, I don't know where he fits in there.

As far as working on my car, I listen to pretty much anything upbeat and not-depressing music, eg "This vacation's useless, these white pills aren't kind."
It seems like when shit doesn't go right, it's a lot easier to not put my torque wrench through my windshield when I'm listening to something remotely positive and upbeat.

:)

I'm not thumbing thru this... but I listen to all kinds of things from EVERY era of music. This includes classical, hardcore, techno, industrial, I mean... EVERYTHING.

Some at the top of my list (and everyone will call me emo for this)

Shiny Toy Guns
Something Corporate
HelloGoodbye
Juliana Theory
Finch
Breaking Benjamin
Stone Sour
40 Below Summer
Johnny Cash
Blumchen
Cloudskipper
Killswitch Engauge
Limp Bizkit
Bush
Chris Brown (I admit it)
Timbaland
T-Pain/Akon (once again, I admit it)
Tech N9ne
Brotha Lynch Hung
Pharcyde
Tribe Called Quest
Do or Die

ok I could go on forever.

i never really got over the first NIN album either, "pretty hate machine." i like working out to that.

Ah I love NIN. It never gets old to me. I couldn't even tell you what my favorite track of theirs is, there's so many that kick ass. Down in it, head like a hole, only, hurt, I guess those would be my favs if I had to pick...

And to whoever said they used to listen to Godsmack while racing their car...I feel you on that too, I used to just listen to "whatever" over and over in my car...oh man I loved it! :D

I listen to everything. Lately a lot of alternative and classic rock. It depends on my mood.

I love how all the east coasters don't listen or even mention Tech9.
