Me and the family are going to go to upstate NY/Vermont to ski this week after xmas. I can't make up my mind where to go. On the list is Whiteface, Killington, Okemo, and Stratton. I know there's a bunch of east coast people here. Any skiers with some experience with these places?

killington or stratton, hands down

okemo is like 10 min from killington, so you could do both on a 2-day.

you cant beat any of them... They are all amazing... I just went to Catamount last weekend... Nice small, not too crowded place..

You can also go to Stowe VT... Thats a nice mountain.

stowe is nice too, but its kinda hard to find... lol

Stowe is really where I want to go. It's just an extra hour and a half drive compared to the other places. Whatabout crowds? I'm just worried I'm gonna get there and wait 20 minutes for a lift ever time.

My mom and sister are going too, and they arn't much into skiing. Do any of the places stand out in terms of other activities so they don't get bored?

you guys have mountains there? I thought those were foothills.

<-----World Record snow at mt baker.

Whiteface has tons of stuff to do if your not into skiing. A bunch of guys are going up to Whiteface in Febuary and only about half of us are actually skiing/snowboarding.

Thats good to hear:thumbsup: Whiteface is where I want to go (its gotta be good if the 80' Olympics Ski Competitions were there). How difficult are the runs there? Looking at the trailmap there are only one or 2 blue runs from the top of the 2 mountains and no greens. Are the blacks there rediculous, or are they something an intermediate skier can manage if they have to?

its the holiday season. pretty much everywhere between tomorrow and jan 5th is going to be pretty busy

Well I decided to go to Whiteface. I'll be there for the next few days, hopefully I won't pull a Sonny Bono while I'm there.
