Before i start ,IM SORRY, i know this subject has been touched on a million times but please just hear me out and read first. There was a kid that did the complete swap pics in all of a f22 in a 91 hatch ive never found the site or info again if you have it id love to get it. I want to do the swap because i dont want to be like every other swap even though they are all the same i want to be a little different. I just want some power to get me going when i need .I was gonna start with the h2b kit with the f22 vtec 145 hp 147 trq and ls tranny ive got the tranny and a great price on an engine. The kit is about $800, engine $400, mounts $275 axles$150 work myself i know its a little more than that but thats the basics, i need to know if anyone has an idea on what ECU to run and what connections id have to make for the 90 si rex to f22 vtec and any other helpful info. I dont want to hear about all the other swaps please just info on this one im going to look into it soon and need info asap. No engine for the price or setup has the same potential 145 hp 147trq vtec and SOHC thats crazy for a beater engine and all you need is an h22 block and a few just a few other things and you have a new setup without buying aLL new stuff. withany other swap you have to start all over again. But i want it for simplicity and to suprise people. PLEASE CAN YOU ALL HELP ME OUT.

I'm sure you don't want to hear my opinion...but here it is anyway.

There's a reason the f-series swap isn't popular, it isn't worth it. There is very little after market support for them and you can get similar power out of an LS motor. The LS swap is cheap and lots of people have done it.

There is a decent amount of after-market support actually, certainly not as much as the B-series, but it is there. And yeah, the F22 makes similar horsepower to the LS, but it actually has about 20 ft/lbs more of torque, so it's really not that bad of an option for a small, lightweight car. It's also pretty decent under boost.

With that said, I'd actually recommend against it in a CR-X. Installing an F22 into a CR-X is the same as installing an H22. It's not exactly an easy swap. It's a tight fit, and you have to do some cutting. When you consider the cost, I'd say it's not worth it. If you're gonna go through the trouble I'd at least install an H22.

The B-series is a much easier swap and will make decent enough power in a lightweight car like the CR-X.

i wanted it becauseits a sohc and not dohc its better on gas and like i said i can up grade to a h22 if i wanted. I know what power acuras make i use to own one i like the pull of the ls from bottom end but this one has more that i know you would feel. Im not worryed about all the crazy aftermarket i just want the basics in a set up not all the crazy nos and drag racing setups. Its just a doit yourself round the way set up something to be different.

Now I can get behind that. Accepting that it isn't the *best* idea, and going for it anyway. Bear in mind that the gas mileage really won't be better than a stock LS motor, and you're golden. SOHC isn't any more efficient than DOHC (effectively). I wish you the best of luck, and take lots and lots of pictures!
