i'm doing an engine swap on my brothers 98 cx and we are dropping a 95 gsr in it. my one friend told me i need to use the b16a2 harness.... is this correct? if now, what engine harness do i need to use?

no you dont want a si harness. you need a 96-98 civic ex harness. m/t would be the best. your car is obd2a. or modify the cx harness that you have. i think your other problem is that the engine is obd1 so youll have to either convert it obd2 or again modify the harness.

Keep your stock engine harness and buy an obd2a - obd1 jumper harness. Make sure you have an obd1 distributor and an obd1 ecu. The best ecu for that would be an obd1 p72, since it is the ecu that comes with the engine. Keep in mind, you will need to wire in the knock if you run an unchipped obd1 ecu.

i already figured out what i have to do, traded the gsr obd1 harness for an obd2b si harness, i have to use the si distributor which i have from a head i bought a while back and change the plug for the alternator. Now since it is going to be an obd2b my friend told me i need to change the oil pump i think he said, for an si oil pump that has the crank sensor since the obd1 gsr doesnt have it... how important is it to have that sensor installed? would the car not start without it?

i dont think it starts but theres a way to trick it. i dont think the si harness is what you need or whats good for you, but whatever you want.
