what's the differences between the f22a1 and the f22a1 longblock? Would it be worth my while to swap the f22a1 in my 94 accord vtec to a f22a1 longblock? What kind of work and costs would it take?

a longblock is just a 'logical collection of motor parts'. it's oil pan to valve cover, no tranny, ecu, electronics, etc that would come in a 'full change over'. If you already have an f22a1, you probably don't need a longblock (unless it's blown, etc)

Alright that makes sense I was just curious now could I take a 96 accord manual tranny off a f22b1 and swap it onto my automatic 94 accord with the f22a1 which is vtec?

It will bolt up to your engine. not sure about the chassis mount (likely there's an aftermarket one to make it happen if it doesn't).
Where it gets tricky is
- the pedal set
- the interior trim
- the clutch switch wiring (ie, to start the car cluctch must be in)
- the ecu (will need a manual 94 ecu)
- the shift linkages
- the clutch master cyl, and all hard lines
- a clutch/flywheel
- the starter to match

there's probably more.

It's a lot of work. If you don't have a lot invest into the car right now, you're probably better off selling the car and buying a manual model.
