prelude rider, what if he did a crv vtec since he is looking for some more power. It wont be as hard as putting the h22 in and he would have close to the same power. I know he what's a little more than 145 hp. I think he should do the crv vtec and get him a b16 tranny.
like myah said check your valves. A friend of mine swapped in a b16 into his 95 civic coupe and he took it for a spin and his vtec lagged. He did a valve adjustment on it and boy did it sound good. No more lagging. You probably need to get a tuned ecu for your particular setup. You aren't taking...
If it was me I would do the H22 swap. I have a 94 accord coupe ex. I put an H22 in it in March and I love it. It will be money well spent if you do it. I really don't race, but I just love the extra pick up and the look on people faces when I be beside them and they hear that vtec. They look...
What you saying is true. That's what I was saying. I have a 94 Accord Ex coupe with an H22a swap in it. I also was saying there's no need for him to buy the Type S engine when he can get a base model H22 and buy the Type S cams and pistons and put in it and it would be cheaper. Yes it will be...
Nobody really uses this motor because this is a very difficult swap to do because of the atts system that this motor has. The best thing for you to do is to get a complete swap and buy the Type S pistons and cams and put in that motor. Really this is a cheaper option and you will have the same...
Doing ls/vtec will put you there alot easier. You will have the low end tq and top end power. With just the ls you will just have tq and at the top end it will get killed.
Yea man, you said you want it to sound good not bad. So don't do duals. Just do a custom cat back. That's what I did. I have a H22 in my accord and when I had it put in about 5 months ago I wanted a nice sound and low at the same time. I have headers magnaflow cat and magnaflow muffler. All I...
Man you lucky. Well I can't complain too much because I ordered a H22a swap for my 94 accord ex coupe back in march and the money was never tooken from my account and still have had no problems with my account to this day. Yes the motor runs like a charm. Came with test results and everything...
That is a very good idea and choice to do. This is called a ls/vtec. You will have the low end tq with the top end power. And it's a very good idea to do it while it's out.
Sounds like your motor is failing badly on you. How many miles is on that motor? May need to have somethings redone on it to get it back strong and running correctly.
Why would he put the worn head on the better block. Doesn't make sense to me. It would make sense for him to put the b16 head on the gsr block. That combo is called a poor man's type r. Anyways the difference between a b16 and a type r heads is that the r has hand port and polish from the...
Go to your local parts store and ask for a 99 or 00 Civic Si distributor. This is what you have to use since the jdm is internal and the usdm is external.
I know that the jdm H22a is internal coil because I have one in my Accord 94 ex 2dr. Check your grounds as you mentioned and make sure the rotorary button is good also. When I did my swap about four months ago I replaced the distributor cap, rotorary button also. To let you know, you have to...
If I'm not mistaken sportcompactcarweb.com did this swap. K-Series Engines into the EK (1996-2000) Civic's Chassis - Tech - Sport Compact Car Magazine check this out. I can't remember where I saw a right of things you need for the particular swap in this body style.
Nalbi you can use the K20A from the Civic Type R, but not the F20c from the S2000. It wont work at all. The K will be the best choice for you. Go ahead and get you that K20. S2000 are rwd and can't spin the other way. Besides that K20 can be faster anyways.
