its the alternator more than likely. they are designed to run the car and whatever factory equiped options are on it. your stereo system is pulling too much juice and is putting too much of a load on the alternator, and could cause problems elsewhere. i would go ahead and have the alternator...

the vacuum line itself isn't the problem, it's the nipple that the line connects to thats broken. and now that i think about it, that line has been like that for a while now and i haven't really noticed anything wrong with how the car runs (actually not even sure what those lines are for). well...
