Big, hot pieces of dense rubber can cause some good damage to cars. Race tires once they heat cycle can pick up anything (rocks, pebbles, bits of glass, shards, tire flopsom, etc) and throw it at other cars behind and to the sides. Broken windshields, dents, chunks of stuff bonded to your car...
