My b18 starts at like 1800 for the 1st start of the day.
then like 3 mins later it's idle is 850ish maybe 900 never notice a knock sound but like a putting sound every once in awhile during warm up.
test drive it and listen for any ping, detention , or any other mayor problems .. and while your out test driving it take it to your mech, or someone you trust and know his stuff.
thank you for the input
it's just I need to save up some money for a clutch. becus I've bought pistons , rods, apr head studs
so basically if i want to make it last i prolly need to match rpms when i shift .. and avoid slapping into gear.
I'd say rev-hard kit
Nice base kit with FMIC
and when i say it's a bolt on turbo kit , it really is. so far the easiest kit i ever installed
and what you can pump out in power is decent aswell
also 03 is a bit back in the day lol
BTW
Theres really only two things you can do to make it run right.
convert it obd1 to obd2 and you the y5 ecu
or
Put a z6 head on it use p28 ecu ,Edit: might have timing issues
Info source:
Did a d16y5 swap and messed with it for 3 months...
I have a question
My Teg has a Stock clutch (less then 250miles on clutch)
I'm putting down 220-240whp
How long do you think it'll last?
I don't race offen at all, and if i do it's from a 40 roll.
Only problem i have with ebay turbo kits other then.. well other bad quality over all.
is you run in to alot of problems putting them together. Missing parts and what not.
I've hooked up some ebay turbos for friends ....and after the 3rd one hell no, i'm never doing it again.
But I've seen ebay...
hmm I'm not familiar with the f-engines
but i haven't heard a lot or really anything likes. so I don't know if it's possible
Now like a H22 block with H23 head or B18 block with B16 head , never heard of H on a F .
id say drain oil to start before any damage is done to the point of having a new engine or needing to rebuild it.
if damage has been done (correct me if wrong) wouldn't most of the damage be to bearings and what not. and maybe have a mild rebuild down and smooth sailing
