The crankshaft for the D15 has a smaller main journal size than the D16, so you can't swap cranks unless you do some machining to the journals on the block.

The comression is going to go down or it will stay the same with the dish z6 piston but it will work. What happen to the rod? did you hydrolock the engine?

I would no touch any federal mugol on a honda engine. Sealed power= federal mogul. good for a SB 350 but not good enough of a b16. honda machining goes down to about .001"-.002". most of these comanies will produce a generic bearing good for regular driving but not good for what you plan to do.

I have a aem cam gear and on the directions it sais for top end HP retard , and advance for low end.but you car has two cams I'm not sure but if you buy one the directions will help.
I don't have any advice on the vtec but I can tell you that I highly recamend that you make that shop aware of your problem. Because I know in this buisness if you don't adress the problem ASAP then you may run into problems ( hopefully not) then they will not be responsible, or atleast claim...
