Yep, my car has no tach, but the EX that the harness came from probably did. My harnesses only have 2 ecu pins too. The third is inside along with the other half of the green plug connection. I finall got the car running today, but the timing has to be wrapped all the way towards the firewall...
Thanks for those links civicious. That is kinda what I did with my CX harness cut did not know were to pin wires at the ecu. There is some very useful pin info though and I'm sure I will using that. Thanks again...matto
Thanks again guys. I found one this afternoon!!! I found a couple actually. For all you guys looking for 99 Si wiring harness, listen up...
There is one on eBay right now with 2 days to go on the auction. Bid is at $75 now NR. Just search "Honda Wiring Harness" and you will see it...
Hey guys, thanks again for all the replies and help!!! I was just wondering if anyone knew where to get an engine wiring harness from a 99-00 civic EX or SI??? Locally, no one has anything, and I doubt they could remove it properly anyways. The dealer wants around $450 my cost, where down...
Gotcha 1sik, maybe this motor was cobbed more than I thought. I originally assumed it was OBD1 b/c it lacked the CAS like other OBD2 cars I have worked on. Maybe the wreckers switched dizzys before shipping b/c I ordered an OBDII swap. Also, the OBDII ecu was just chillin on top of the motor...
Sweet good idea civicious. Should be same sheite right?? Are all the harnesses '96+ the same for the EX? Is the green dash plug at the ecu the only thing connecting the engine harness to the car besides on the drivers shock tower? If so, an EK harness change should not be that bad at all...
Thanks again 1sik, so do you recommend that I run the original OBD1 dist, but cut and splice the OBDII connector on??? This way, wouldn't it connect to the Si harness and and the wires needed for the OBD1 ecu and jumper harness?? I cannot thank you guys enough for your patients and...
Thanks 1sik, I may try to compare the innards of the two dizzys tomorrow to see if the OBDII one lack that cylinder position sensor you were talking about. MAybe I can run the wire externally if there is a sensor, but no wire going engine side of the harness. If that does not work, where could...
Hey guys, if there is a potential difference in engine harnesses, I just wanted to clarify my car. The motor was that d15 with the whacked out intake manifild with the throttle body in the center of the runners facing straight up. This is why the harness was short in some spots on the B16a b/c...
Civicious, here are the 8-pin OBDII 2000 DX dizzy wire colors:
Black/Yellow
Pale Yellow/Green
Solid White
Solid Blue
White/Light Blue
Peach/Light Blue
Solid Black
Solid Peach
Keep in mind it was dark outside and I was using one of those LED flashlight so the color may have been off some what...
Civicious, my dizzy is an OBDII one with 8-wires. It was the one that came off of the stock d15 motor. The only difference is that the B16a cast aluminum housing that bolts to the head is holding the OBDII dizzy internals that I swapped it.
1sikEH2, after checking out the pics, I guess your...
Thanks for the replies guys!
1sikEH2, thanks for checking out your dizzy. If yours has 9-wires, how does it connect to your OBDII harness? My 2000 DX only has 8 pin connector. Does the 99 SI dizzy have 9 wires, but with two going into the same pin on an 8 wire connector??? Also, when you...
Thanks again for the replies!! Civ, the motor is all B16a. I may have typed something all crazy before, but it is a Jap b16.
Here is a pic of that VTEC solenoid that I just took. Notice that the actual vtec solenoid has a wire going to it for activation. The sensor that is missing is the...
Hey guys, thanks for the replies!
The reason I did not keep the car OBDII to begin with was b/c the company I bought the swap from screwed me. I ordered a COMPLETE drop it OBDII swap, but it showed up with cutting torched axles mounts and linkages, completely destroyed harness, and above...
Anyone had similars problems with their swap???? I cannot find the exact info I need with the search. Again, I have compression, spark, timing is correct, etc. Any ideas on what to check next? Thanks again! matto
Hello guys, this is my first post to the site here. I wish I had found it earlier. If anyone could provide some insight on my situation, I would greatly appreciate it!
Fist off the car is a 2000 Cheese-ball basic DX Hatch, and I have already installed the Jap (read unknow year/origin)...
