We swaped a gsr into a 1993 civic vx and it was already obd1 so no issues there we are runing the p72 ecu and might be missing sensors. Do not no for sure. The car is fast as fuck untill it hits 80 mph and then it backfires and spits and sputers and then dies and we pull over and it starts right back up. Want to run the car and get 1/4 mile time but cutting out at 80 isnt going to cut it.

CAR: 1993 honda civic vx
Enigine: 1994 J Spec GSR
ECU: p72
Known parts missing: one of the throttle body sensors and a vaccum line missing on manifold and throttle body.
PROBLEM: Car Runs Great Till 80 milea an hour.

did you do a harness swap?? if not your problem may be that the VX uses a 5 wire wideband 02 sensor..I'm not 100% sure on what plugs the 1.6 has compared to the GSR engine..you will need to do a rewire or ecu pinout change to be capable of running the GSR engine with the VX harness...seeing that the gsr i would image uses the 4 wire o2 sensor while the VX uses a 5 wire wideband o2...

dont know if it can make it cut out, but that may be one of the problems...the harness in the car now was different from all other models...it was equiped with a 1.6 e- v tec ...it was suppost to be the "great" gas mileage car...just do some reasearch and see what you can come up with

It has the full harness swap but we are missing some vaccum lines and one sensor. But i dont see how it can run hella strong then when it hits 80 turn off.
Its gettin a lil iritating

the engine harness is a complete swap...How about the floor harness from shock tower back to ecu plugs??
