3rd cylinder dead

Ok i just bought my replacement car a civic hatch with a motor problem!
Its not firing in 3rd or so it seems
the guy i bought it from said hes been putting in new spark plugs every few days(in the bad cylinder)
i looked he had a ton of burnt up ones!
could it be a bad injector ?
just one cylinder is down im going to drive it home today! but if i can fix the issue with little to no problems would be great lmk

check compression first. thats something everyone should do. then do a leak down test.

guy next door has a 91 Si hatch with just over 100K miles he's selling to me for $300 with the same problem. we did a leak down and compression test decided it was bad rings. it smokes slightly.

I See , yea i will have to do a compression test- it dosnt smoke in the slightest though

what do the bad plugs look like? Do they look like the cylinder is running rich?
