Hi all,

This car has had a couple of owners in the last year with each spending some money on this problem.

The idle is somewhat rough, when you step on the gas the car just wants to die. If you tap on the pedal a bit and get the RPMs up it takes off just fine. When you going down the road it will hold speed but you have to kick it down to move faster.

It's had the EGR, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel pump replaced. The timing has been checked and adjusted. I'm not sure about the main relay that's talked about a lot. I do have a fuel cut off relay; just not sure about the main. All the replacements have made improvements to the overall running but the problem remains.

I keep thinking it's a vacuum problem but I have seen threads suggesting a worn distributor?

Any help would be appreciated!

I pulled the carburetors and sent them to carbusa for a rebuild. The car is running much better. There are still some fast idle problems but I'm working on it. At least its driveable now.
