I put in a walbro 255, because my other one was shot and it was cheaper than buying one from oreillys or honda. but it makes a whining sound when i'm driving most of the time. If i come to a stop the noise stops, are these pumps just like this or is the pump not correctly installed. I would appreciate any help.
 
Yup, same here. I've got a Walbro 255 and it's loud. This is pretty normal for high flow pumps. Pay attention the next time you see a large SUV drive by in a parking lot- you'll hear the same loud fuel pump whine too.
 
yup walbros suck for noise just blew 316 on a pump for my belair and it going back tomorow WAY to loud i spend the exra 50 on a run quiet pump
