I just bought a 92 Civic DX hatchback from a Honda mechanic to take to college. I'm not looking to turn the car into a street racer or anything but I know one day the engine/transmission will give out and I was thinking of replacing it with an H22A. I was wondering how feasible that is?

H22 swap into a EG Civic is a bit intense, and probably not the first swap you should consider. It tends to unbalance the car, and theres a lot of work involved to make it fit.

Ideally, depending on how much $$$ you have to spend, I'd look at a EX/SI motor swap, a B16A2 swap, or a B18/or B18C swap. All of those can be done with substantially less effort than an H22, and will incrementally give you more power.

EX/SI - D16Z6, easy, decently quick on a hatch, and cheap
B16A2 - Quicker, a bit more money but more modifications
B18B (LS) - More torque, and LS/VTEC can be done later on
B18C - VTEC, one of the more expensive swaps, but gives you the most horsepower.
