93 Civc Coupe with F20B

I have finished putting my motor in my car. I drove it to a friends house and the next day I went to drive it and my alternator started smoking and it drained my battery. I went and got another alternator and it done it again. My battery light does not come on when the smoking occurs. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have my harness off my motor right now and I took it apart and checked the wiring I done and everything is where it supposed to be. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

it sounds like your are getting power to the wrong place. i dont know how you did your wiring, but that is the mail culprit. retrace all wires, use proper diagrams, and a continuity tester is always helpful.
