96 Civic Cx-ex Head Problems

yea i swaped my nasty 8 valve head 4 a d16y8 head (98 civic ex) so i have a cx block w/ a ex head and manifold it runs funny...first it idles up and down up and down

second the rev limiter kicks in around 3 grand......


so i was wondering what to do?????????????

i need help

You gotta get a shop manual first so that we can check the sensors that aren't hooked up / broken. That poor thing is OBD2 a.k.a. garbage because nearly everything on the engine is monitored by sensors. I think it may have something to do with the distributor because I had the same prob in the hatch till I changed it. Running a VTEC engine with the CX dist. just sounds funny. Get a manual though... might be able to re wire the CX harness to run the VTEC dist.
