ive got a 97 accord se with 4 cyl. non vtec.
its my first car and when i initially bought it, well i didn't get to pick my first car.
so what happened was i didn't get to have a car with manual tranny.
here is a deal. now im about to go to college majoring mechanical engineering, i thought i'd be a good experience to swap my tranny. i know it'd be better off with engine swap and just have tranny that comes with it. but i don't think that im gonna keep this car. i just want to have a little fun driving not just seating in my car holding steering wheel.
SO! here is my question. what do i need to do tranny swap besides the tranny? i know basic stuff like clutch pedal, master and slave cylinder (actually im not sure what the slave cylinder is used for) but not the details.
and do i need to get the motor out? i don't think i have to but just want to make sure.
i'd like a list of EVERYTHING i need. yes i said EVERYTHING.
if you have pictures of u or anyone doing this job, plz post them for me.
